I’m ready to start writing this novel. I do have one final research thing: if you live (or have lived) in Chicago, I’d love to ask you some questions about a few things. Email me: https://authorlevelup.comcontact/. I won’t take much of your time. 🙂
Anyway, I finished up some loose ends: I got clear on the opening scene (kind of), enough that I’m good to start writing. We’ll see where it goes.
I’ve laid my workout clothes next to my bike so that I don’t have any excuses.
Tomorrow is the day, folks!!! (Oh boy, what did I get myself into).
I reached out to a few cover designers and two got back to me right away. Very, very hard to get onto their calendar, but I think I found one who can get me in sooner than later. We’ll see.
I have an idea for the cover that I think could work pretty well as an illustrated cover. It’s super dark though.
Anyway, the next steps for the novel are:
- #1: Write the first three chapters
- #2: Stop and write the book description and ad copy
- #3: Recruit alpha readers for initial feedback on first few chapters
- #4: Keep writing
Some questions I have but don’t know yet: how many words can I write in a day dictating? How many calories will I burn each day? What will writer’s block look like? (Writer’s block might be a fresh hell that I’ve never experienced, being on a bike and having to be creative at the same time).
I’ll have a good idea on how this is going to starting tomorrow.
The hardest part is always starting, so my SOLE job is to get this boulder rolling tomorrow. Even if it’s only a few hundred words, that’s a victory. The first 1000 words or so always come the slowest.
FAREWELL, AMNESIA MODE
Another profitable day today, though my ads went a little crazy at the end of the day.
This is the last update I’ll give on AMS ads, so this was fun. Yeah. On to new things!
Anyway, stay tuned for some fun updates moving forward about dictation.
