I made GIGANTIC strides on my YouTube overhaul today. I reorganized everything to create a new background set, which took most of the morning.
The second round of equipment came and boy does everything look really, really good. Can’t wait to unveil it, but I did run into a very minor technical issue that required me to order a couple extra items. I might have considered just recording and uploading, but the issue involved my eyes, so I have to fix that before I move forward. There’s nothing worse than getting your eyes lit incorrectly. So I’m not quite there yet.
I hate perfectionism. I just go and adjust as I move forward, but there are some lines in the sand I do draw from time to time.
If all goes well, I’ll be a better spot next week. In any case, I’m making pretty good progress. Not bad for starting around a week ago.
Anyway, I took a studio tour today of a facility where I can potentially record future audiobooks. Very neat. It was in an office building that is dedicated to artists. As I walked through the halls, I saw jewelry makers, photography studios, glass blowers, and more. The artist who designed Prince’s Purple Rain album and the Star Wars logo has residence in the building. His wife did a bunch of iconic rock albums, like some by Eddie Van Halen and Quiet Riot. Very cool to see some of that stuff. Anyway, not exactly what I thought I’d stumble into today, but it was a fun excursion (with masks and social distancing, of course).
Anyhoo, a good day today with lots of progress, though I didn’t write anything. Sometimes you don’t have to write every day to move things forward.
