My back went out again today. It’s extremely cold here in Iowa right now and my spine just said to hell with it. I look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame right now, but the show must go on…
Wrote 2500 words today.
Also started (and finished) Joanna Penn’s new book on AI for authors. Very short read, but a lot to digest. I highly recommend it.
I started the day very early chatting with a fellow author at 6:30AM.
Then, I published my next book. Official announcement will come tomorrow. Actually, I published two books. Feels pretty good.
I also did some proofreading for a book that ALLi will be releasing soon. It’s a killer one, with lots of interesting publishing history. It won’t be public but it will be available to writers’ organizations who want to learn how to serve their self-published writers. Really good stuff.
Also got my inbox down to zero finally. Now I have ridiculous response rates. A fan today sent me a note saying thanks for the great content, and I responded in like five minutes. I probably could have waited a bit, but I’m psycho like that. When there’s only one thing standing between you and a clean inbox, sometimes you have to do as that great philosopher Tommy Pickles once said…a baby’s gotta do what a baby’s gotta do. LOL
LESSON LEARNED & EXECUTED
No ad work today, though I’ll launch some ads for the new books tomorrow. They should be up and running just in time for Christmas.
Today was a great ad day overall. Started the day very strong and I was already in the clear by dinner time. Made a great profit today. If only every day was like this…
Sold another poetry collection, too PLUS an audiobook of my short story collection. I know, I know…small numbers…but I’m just constantly tickled by this. It’ll never get old.
Also, I’m starting to get a little bored with Amnesia Mode…
I love these daily posts but it feels like the ad work is duplicative. My mind is starting to lead me down different paths, particularly to a gargantuan project that will test my skill level. I’ll probably continue Amnesia Mode through middle of the month, probably until I hear back from the TED people whether I got the gig or not. That seems like a good way to end it either way. I got what I needed out of it, which was a level up in my copywriting skills and profitable ads that increased my income. Nothing dramatic like Beast Mode, but enough.
The project I’m thinking about involves using automation and artificial intelligence to assist me with my editing. Y’all know this is a project I’ve been talking about for a while. I’m finally ready to take some next steps with it.
I may still give ad updates weekly for a while, but don’t be surprised if you see me launch into another mode…#restless
