2958 words today. Yikes.
The crazy part is, I’m waking up and I’m putting in the hours. But this story is just taking its time.
Unless I blast into turbo mode in the next 24-48 hours, I won’t succeed in this challenge. We’ll see. But again, 2958 words is a fantastic number for fiction and will still net me a novel in approximately 17 days at this pace.
The good news is that my cable for my mic came today so I’ll test that out tomorrow to see if I can get some good dictation in.
WHAT’S GOING ON?
The story is taking its time, that’s all. The chapter I wrote today was way slower than I would have liked. Almost all the 2900 words I wrote were for one chapter, which was full of twists and turns that I didn’t expect. I also had to do some research. But the chapter I just ended upped the stakes in a big way, so the story is in a good spot.
Anyway, I’m off to do a dictation session to see if I can improve my words a little bit tonight. Whatever I write tonight will roll into tomorrow’s count for simplicity’s sake. It likely won’t be much anyway.
