About 300 words today. Very low, but I spent the entire day reviewing Project Author Income. I added an Appendix which is where today’s words came from. It's ready to go to my editor now. I'll send it as soon as she sends back Project Writing Tips, which will be Friday or Saturday.
I also voted today. Iowa does a great job in providing flexibility. Its absentee voting is one of the best in the country. You can request a ballot without giving a reason.
You can mail your absentee ballot, vote in person early at a satellite center, or have someone from one of the political parties in the county pick up the ballot and deliver it for you. In short, lots of ways to exercise your civic responsibility—and safely, too.
My wife and I got our ballots in the mail, filled them out and dropped them off at the county auditor’s office. A gentleman in a mask sat in the lobby with a ballot box. We didn't even have to go into the office itself, which was PACKED with voters. Phew!
It was weird being in downtown Des Moines. It's like a ghost town. I haven't been there since March. I worked downtown before the pandemic, and it's amazing how different it is now. As my wife and I drove home, we noticed that a lot of businesses we knew were no longer there. Restaurants, nail salons, florists. No one has been spared from this pandemic. It was a sobering afternoon to be honest.
Anyhoo…Because I spent the day proofing Project Author Income, my emails crept up and I didn't accomplish much else today. I'm not going to be able to get to inbox zero so that will be a priority in the morning.
My designer also sent another illustration for Project Atlas. She's almost done. She has just two left. She's aiming to be done with drafts in the next week. After I give her feedback, we could be around the middle of October before Project Atlas will finally be ready.
All in all, good progress today. I'm setting myself up to have all Beast Mode books published by end of the month for sure.
