I’ve heard from so many of you that you like my daily updates about how I’m making progress on my writing, so I decided to syndicate this to my blog as well as my YouTube community. It’ll be easier to follow for those of you who prefer RSS feeds, and also good for those of you who prefer to get your notifications on YouTube.
As with all of my blogging efforts, I won’t promise that I’ll be 100% consistent. My YouTube channel and podcasts have to come first, but I DO enjoying blogging!
This won't be the prettiest blog either. No SEO or algorithm stuff. Just the facts, folks.
Anyway…
For those of you who haven’t been following along, I started a project called “Beast Mode” on August 1. My goal is to write AS MANY BOOKS AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE between August 1 and October 31. Hence “Beast mode.”
So far, I’ve written 6 books (all code-named for now):

Anyway, TODAY’S UPDATE.
0 words again, but boy did I accomplish a ton.
- Took my email inbox from 130 to 2 (HI-YA)!!!! Pretty awesome. I haven’t seen the bottom of my inbox in weeks. This will make me a lot more productive. A lot of it was unsubscribes or emails I didn’t need to address. But too much email gives me anxiety. I don’t like it.
- Reviewed and proofed my Vellum file for Project Confidential, Vol. 1. The ebook and paperback are ready to go. It just needs a cover…
- Found cover art and ordered my cover design for Project Confidential, Vol. 1. First draft will be done Thursday morning. The book will be ready for publication sometime this weekend.
- Got two speaking engagements tee’d up. Got my speaker info over to the organizers.
- Booked a podcast interview for October with a show for entrepreneurial types.
- Cleaned up www.michaellaronn.com and www.authorlevelup.com in anticipation of my interview with The Creative Penn, which goes live mid-October. Joanna is going to send a lot of people my way, so I need to be ready for them.
- Reviewed and approved this week’s video for YouTube for my video editor.
- Reviewed and provided feedback for two illustrations for my upcoming book, Project Atlas.
- Prepared Project Atlas for my editor. It’ll be ready as early as tomorrow.
- FINALLY added a page for The Writer’s Journey to authorlevelup.com. Now people will know I have two podcasts. Embarrassing how long it took me to do this. But hey, that’s life.
I got an insane amount of stuff done today. Tomorrow will likely be 0 words too, as I promised to spend this week prepping all my books for publication. Considering that I’ve written 6 books so far, I can afford to spare a few days!
Also, found a great 1970s jazz album from Italy that is great for writing. Fantastic chords and compositions. I spammed this pretty much all day. Feelings by Stefano Torossi. Very strong Lalo Schifrin and Isaac Hayes vibes, with none of the things I dislike about Schifrin and Hayes (inconsistency, and mood prioritized over creative expression. Love their styles though). Every track is killer.
