I finally got my direct store set up. I’m focusing on my writing books right now but will eventually roll my fiction into the storefront once I get into a flow. I use Payhip, which is almost effortless. The shopping cart feature is fantastic, and it even has cross-sell and upsell capabilities. I’m focusing on ebooks-only right now, but I have my eye on print and audiobook direct sales solutions, probably for next year. I want to get direct sales for ebooks right first. More on that in a minute.
I got the first half of my nonfiction books into the storefront, so you’ll see buttons on the book pages that say “Buy Directly from Michael.”
I used to have a direct sales feature on my site, but it was really clunky and I’ve been waiting for a service that will do it right. So, I’m a little late to the party I suppose, but a lot of people still don’t do direct sales. I’m a big believer that it has to be very easy to load your books into, easy for readers to buy, and easy to maintain, or it’s not worth it.
I spent the rest of the day doing a lot of paperwork to finish up beast mode, since this is the final week (teardrops). But I’m preparing for my NEXT challenge which will start Nov. 1, which I think all of you will find interesting. It’s marketing-focused, which is rare for me.
